Socado’s R&D team deals with the study and development of new products and technological innovation, while the QA department guarantees compliance with quality standards in the various production processes. Each technicians, thanks to dedicated tools and advanced technologies, constantly monitor quality and safety of the products, applying rigorous control protocols at every stage of production that impose daily microbiological, physical, chemical, organoleptic and sensorial analyzes, both on raw materials and on the finished product. Socado, thanks to its continuous search for quality in every aspect, has obtained over the years important certifications aimed at FOOD AND HEALTH SAFETY.

ISO 22000: certified system that allows to carry out a very effective and always up-to-date risks analysis and food hazards, optimizing all the processes involved and the controls along the production cycle.

BRC (British Retail Consortium) and IFS (International Food Standard): international certifications that enable to be in line with the reliability required by international retailers, particularly concentrating to food safety and quality issues and rigorous in the selection of potential suppliers for their private label products.

For Socado Quality also means SUSTAINABILITY, which is why it has achieved other prestigious certifications, aimed at ensuring sustainability in palm oil and cocoa production, indispensable ingredients in the chocolate production.

RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil): non-profit association that aims to promote the cultivation and use of sustainable palm oil. The application of the standard is aimed to respond customer requests and requirements relating to their commitment in terms of sustainability of products derived from palm oil, meeting the needs of major distributors and retailers to certify the sustainability of products and demonstrate the commitment to sustainable production practices.(Check our progress at www.rspo.org).

Rainforest Alliance: program that involves coffee, cocoa and tea, aimed at training producers in order to improve their professionalism, as well as the performance and sustainability of their agricultural activity. Growers are also trained in company management, occupational safety and environmental management. The Rainforest Alliance traceability system is synonymous of transparency in the trade of certified goods, as it guarantees that the raw materials used have been grown and collected with a sense of responsibility towards the environment. In this way, credibility is strengthened both towards merchants and buyers, allowing all parties involved to agree on reasonable prices for goods produced in an eco-sustainable way.

FAITRADE: the most recognized ethical brand in the world. Fairtrade is an international organization that, through the FAIRTRADE ethical certification mark, ensures better living and working conditions for producers and workers in developing countries. It represents a valid tool that companies can choose to guarantee their customers social and environmental sustainability along the entire supply chain.

Socado also invests in the quality of commercial practices, which is why it has supported and passed the prestigious SMETA 4 Pillars audit.

SEDEX: Socado is a member of Sedex, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving responsible and ethical business practices in global supply chains.

Registration is subject to passing an audit, called SMETA (Sedex Members' Ethical Trade Audit), carried out by a third and independent authority and aimed at verifying compliance with ethical standards in the fields of work, health and safety, development and business.
