The birth


The passion and experience of Giuseppe Tomatis founds SOCADO, a confectionery food company. From the beginning the company specializes in the production of chocolate-based products, in particular, spreads which remain a key product of the company.



With the production of cremini and other similar products Socado expands its range. Thanks to the initiative of the management, in a short time, Socado becomes a market leader in the Middle East and North Africa, thus gaining considerable expertise in the field of exports.



The company produces spreads in various packages: single portions, jars, cups and buckets, to large bulk tanks of semi-finished products for the confectionery industry.

Headquarters are moved and expanded in the prospect of a major expansion in production.



The first line for the production of chocolate eggs is prepared for the productions on behalf of major companies in the confectionery sector.


Early 90's

The new generation enters the company. After a careful insertion phase, they contribute significantly to upgrading the product range and to organizing the company’s structure and distribution and business activities according to modern criteria.


Late 90's

The present headquarters are built, in Villafranca di Verona, composed of an important plant for the production and a modern office complex.

The company is now ready to present itself, in a significant manner, to the modern sales channel.



The Socado range expands with the introduction of a modern line dedicated to the production of pralines. The production site is expanded and equipped with highly advanced systems, in order to be able to follow the whole process and diversify the supply, thus providing a more complete service to its customers



Socado increases its investment in the production of seasonal products, preparing a plant with new, technologically advanced lines entirely dedicated to the production of Easter Eggs, seasonal products and gift boxes.

Socado begins the process of certification of its establishments (ISO9001, BRC, IFS) obtaining the highest levels and thus ensuring an internationally recognized standard of quality and safety.



Headquarters are further expanded, thus permitting the introduction of new high productivity lines for chocolate bars and pralines.

Socado has a new corporate image, designed in a more modern and attractive manner. Investments in marketing and communication are increased.



A new, technologically advanced, line for spreads is installed. With a new look, new formats and new recipes, Dolcrem, the historical Socado product, becomes even better.



Thanks to the complete renewal of the coordinated image and packaging of the entire range, Socado products acquire a contemporary look and an international appeal.

Socado obtains two new important certifications (RSPO and UTZ) which ensure the sustainable production of palm oil and cocoa, key ingredients in the production of chocolate.

The construction of a new modern logistic terminal, from where Socado products are delivered in Italy and abroad, is completed.



Socado gains the important Faitrade Certification. FAIRTRADE supports farmers and workers as they improve their lives and their communities. Socado becomes member of Sedex, a not for profit membership organization dedicated to driving improvements in responsible and ethical business practices in global supply chains.



New projects for enlarging and re-arranging the production lines. Socado reserves an area for gluten- free productions, so to produce spreads dedicated to people with food intolerances.



Diversification, tecnological innovation, flexibility and quality are the aspects on which Socado continues to focus in the course of time, confirming its position as a reality in continuous evolution and positioning itself among the leading companies in the market of chocolate products
