The Socado company was formed in the early 1970's and initially started out by working in the field of confectionary, mainly chocolate.
The company is located in Villafranca in the province of Verona. The modern up- to- date factory of around 15.000 s.m. is well provided with technologically very advanced systems and offices of 1.500 s.m. Socado has its own warehouses for the distribution located in the strategic Italian points.
Direct from Italy Socado also manages two independent manufacturing plants located in Mexico and India.
Currently the company divides its production into three different products range:
- CHOCOLATE AND CHOCOLATE SUBSTITUTE COATINGS FOR INDUSTRY: The company is equipped with two completely automatic and computerized plants to produce, starting from the raw material , different types of creams, chocolate and chocolate substitute. The production capacity for these plants is over 20.000 tons per year. Currently we supply the main Italian food stuffs and confectionery companies with liquid product in tanks or moulded as drops.
- SEASONAL PRODUCTS: The company is equipped with two automatic and computerized plants for the production of chocolate eggs and other seasonal products, with a daily production capacity of around 6 tons.
In the past Socado produced eggs on behalf of the main companies on the market.
Since 1998 SOCADO decided to develop its own brands and in 2002 has reached a market share of 8 % (+100% in comparison with Easter 2001, data AC.Nielsen), affirming itself as the fourth Italian producer regarding volumes.
Our actual customers are the main organizations of Great Distribution and organized distribution. Regarding Easter 2004 the company has achieved the important operation of co-marketing with GARDALAND and in 2003 with GIG.
- CONTINUAL PRODUCTS INCLUDING PRALINES AND CHOCOLATE SPREAD SNACKS: Socado is equipped with various technologically very advanced plants for chocolate moulding. Production includes filled chocolates (balls, eggs, boeri etc) and solid chocolates (Gianduiotti, chocolates etc). The production capacity is around 5 tons per hour.Our products are intended for Great Distribution and Organized Distribution both in Italy and abroad.
The company is also provided with seven thermoforming plants for the production of chocolate spread packed in PVC cups of different shapes and weights intended mainly for the foreign market in particular middle and far East, west Africa and south America. Socado also has an up-to-date plant for the production of chocolate spreads in glass jars for local and foreign markets.
